Really convenient way to print photos at home. I have used it by connecting a USB drive, and it worked flawlessly. I have also printed wirelessly from my Samsung S5 Neo by bypassing the app. There's absolutely no need to get the app, just select the Selphy from the printers shown in the list and you're off.

Print quality is just like store prints. Super happy with the way my prints turned out. Definietly frameable quality! Ideal for photo projects.

I had a bit of a snag connecting to WiFi b/c the instruction book wasn't very clear. I figured it out on my own after ditching the booklet. No problems since.

The buttons on the Selphy are pretty self-explanatory. From what I've seen in the 10 or so prints I've printed, the options were somewhat basic. I'm going to crop and adjust my photos either on my phone or on a computer and then load to USB and then connect and print that way.

This little printer makes it so easy to have actual physical prints again, it's just fantastic. A great option to save yourself a bundle of time and print your photos whenever and wherever you want.

bought this for our family Christmas get together and it was a fantastic hit. Very easy to set up and load with ink and paper. sending the pictures from our phones is easy enough for even the younger kids. as for the quality..... I was very surprised . Surprised in a good way. we printed of quite a few pictures and all came out great. Obviously if the original is less than perfect then the print will be lacking. The only downfall with this printer is that it will get much use and that means the ink will need to be replaced often. I was surprised how fast it actually used up the ink. I did by a box of aftermarket ink and paper through Amazon for less than the Canon branded ones and its been fine.
This made our night and can recommend it for anyone looking at something like this.

Does what it says, and is good at it. Perfect addition for those wanting to print pictures at home.

Reasons I bought this over something like the Sprocket. First, Sprocket is a good, and for us almost, alternative. However after some sole searching the main decision points were (a) I/we dont need to print pictures "out of purse/pocket" or on the fly, (b) We want ability to print standard picture size(s).

Only printed a few pictures (ie: the free pages that come with the box), but print quality is better than average, and a far site better than my old Multi-Function printer. Now, mind you, we are also trying to determine if the current quality is reflective of the iPhone and/or our skill set as photographers. I believe a combination of both.

The print itself is done in a 4 pass process, laying down each color (red, cyan, yellow and ...white?). So looks a little funny as it passes through (auto feeder) the machine 4 times. However, take note that you need clearance both in back and front for almost the size of the print itself as it passes through. It spits almost all the way out the back, then feed back through to front as it lays down red, reverses out the back again and feeds through to lay down cyan and so forth for the other two colors. Point is , you cant just put it in the corner of your desk up against a wall.

    Reason for 4 stars...
    1) Advertises that is can print various sizes, which was final selling point for us. But the 'small print' is, you need to buy additional cartridges in order to do so. Not hugely expensive to do so (avg initial cost ~$30 per alternative picture size). Out of box, you are able to print 4x6, which to me still makes this a good competitor for similar price point products (eg; Sprocket)

    2) Operational space requirements. As noted, you cant just put it in the corner against a wall. Need clearance on both back and front for the picture feed.

    3) Not a deal breaker, but seems an feels a little old-school and 90's like. A little on the big and clunk size. Larger'ish transformer for the power supply (battery option sold separately). Think laptop power cord. And overall plastic flee design/structure. In today's day, one would think a few lessons can be learned that even with a high power supply need, a large transformer box is not necessary, and companies can start to take lessons from Apples adaptive, less obtrusive, universal and global approach. IN short, a little modernization would have been nice. But again, it is not like we are carrying this around on us, need it to look "fashionable".

Overall. Good buy and will server you well .

Cheap prints for when you want it anywhere to go! This Canon Photo printer is great to have for on location photoshoots where you want results right away for your client. It’s great to have a physical 4x6 colour photo print right after you take the shot. Possibly the cheapest and faster print setup I have ever bought. Pair it with the battery and you have a true on the go solution. Paper and ink cost are approx. $50 cnd. That is about .50 cents a print. It works well for a photo booth situation as well, if you pair it with a AirPrint function of a iPad.
This device speed up my process of taking photos, editing on my tablet and then printing, all within the same location and less than 10mins.
Highly recommend adding this to your on the go studio setup.

This was an update to an older Selphy - and it was worth it. Same dye sub cartridge and the pics still come out good it's just easier to use. Dye sub beats zink, ink jet, laser - any of them. The results anyone would be happy with. If you arrange the pics on your pc you can print a few off in one go while you make your dinner. Good quality to share, make Christmas or holiday cards, they really do look like photos.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing print quality and fun for printing your photos

We purchased this printer so we could print out our digital photos. I researched it a bit, and after reading reviews and info about it online, this sounded like it would have a better print quality then the instant cameras we were considering buying. We were not disappointed the prints are amazing, even better than photos from old film developing! You can transfer the photos many different ways, via bluetooth for phone photos and some cameras. You can use a memory card or a usb flash drive. It takes a little bit of reading the manual to see how to print the photos, it was set to automatically print the photos with borders (which crops the photos a bit), I have to go into the menu and set it to print with borders, then the photos come out showing all the detail in the photo. The only thing I don't like about the printer is, the little screen is not very clear, and it is hard to preview the photos using it. I chose to look at them on the computer and transfer the ones to print to a usb flash drive. The quality of the prints makes it worth the bother though! You do still have to remember to print your digital photos! Though, I think I still have some old 35 mm film spools that haven't been developed yet! The nice thing is you can choose what you want to print!

I have one of those all-in-one ink jet printers. Great to print documents but not so much for decent images. Ink is pricey & there is always the hassle of at least one cartridge running out of ink not to mention changing cartridges & getting printer back up to proceed. I needed a fast, easy & inexpensive way to print a bunch of images for court filing. After much research, reading consumer reviews & watching videos, I chose the Canon Selphy CP1300. Fast Amazon shipping had it in my hands in no time. It is compact but solid. Instructions were pretty straight forward & easy enough to follow. Had that printer up and running in less time than it takes to cook a pot of grits. I figure if this ol’ 70+ granny can do it then easy peasy for others.

Before printing make sure nothing is against back of the printer like the power cord that would impede the paper as it goes back and forth when printing.

Quality…Ok, not that of an expensive pigment ink archival large format printer (which I use to own for award winning prints) but a darn good better than most of those cheap ink jets!

You are limited to no larger than a 4”x6” print but that meets my needs.

The Canon paper/ink bundle includes 10 prepackaged paper, 18 sheets in each pack as that is max number of sheets in the tray at one time. That’s enough paper for 108 4”x6” prints. There are also 3 ink cartridges, so I’m assuming one cartridge will handle 36 prints. $30 price range is very reasonable for this many prints, especially when compared to using ink jet printers with 4-6 different color cartridges that when one goes empty you can’t proceed until it’s replaced!

I don’t know how Canon does it but the prints are not only archival for up to 100 years but they come out smudge and water proof out of the tray! I managed to get some glue stick residue on front of a couple of prints while affixing to documents. I used a damp tissue and wiped it all off without any damage to the prints!
Can’t wait to start printing off those grandbaby pics!

Special note: The printer only comes with 5 sheets and one cartridge that only prints 5 so be sure to order at least one box set of additional Canon paper and ink cartridges!

    Simple y sencillamente MARAVILLOSA.
