I bought this item for a limited special price. I am using it in a small room and only at night. It seems to work well and it is inexpensive for what it is but it is intended for small rooms only. You will get minimal results in bigger spaces such as a living room or a large master bedroom. It is simple to use: Just make sure the filter cartridge is in properly and turn on. The air is taken in from the back of the unit and escapes (filtered) from the top. Since the air escapes from the top, there is no sense in putting it up high so I leave mine close to the floor with enough space in the back for the unfiltered air to be sucked in. There are 3 fan levels and I leave mine at 1 since it is relatively quiet at that level. It makes a minimum amount of white noise but nothing disturbing. The noise level rises quickly and level 2 and 3 just like any other regular fan. I find it makes a difference in air quality in a small enclosed space with no open windows and a closed door. It is well worth the asking price for a good brand name. I hope it will last and remain essentially quiet.
