Great starter stove

Great starter stove
I recommend giving the stove a good first burn, like any stove, this thing stinks of chemicals when you get that first burn in and it gets hot. The stove pipe is telescopic and very short. I added a spark arrestor, which is not included, to give it enough reach to extend past my tent peak. Other than that it's an incredibly cheap alternative to the big name brands, throws lots of heat, easy to stock with wood, extremely light and has very sturdy legs.

Im on my second stove from this company, the first one lasted a little over a year with many burns. One thing i would recommend doing is throw away the chimney that came with it and buy a 1.6" stainless steel one they sell on here for around $70. One thing i dont like about the stove is it has an aluminum plate for the top and if you burn this stove too hot that will be the first thing to go, so i dont recommend using pure hardwood for this or you will warp it all to heck and melt the top plate.

So, upon first look, set up, and inspection; I’d say this may be worth the $150 cad I paid. Will admit I was angry when I first pulled it out of the box because I thought the face and back plate were made of plastic, turns out it’s just cast iron painted black and I love that it’s cast iron. While that may add weight, I know that the front and back will last for sure. I can’t say I like the collapsible pipe though, I’ll have to remove it and use my own pipe in order to use a flue dampener. I have not had the chance to use it yet, but I feel this will do just fine for my camping trips until I can save for a folding titanium stove.
I am doing a winter camping trip at the end of March in -20c ish weather, will update with specifics after said trip. For now, I do truly think it’s worth the $150cad I paid

Well constructed, burns really well and throws out lots of heat . Boils water in minutes once the fire gets going.
I don't like the way the door fits so I made a bracket on the stove bottom in which the door bottom is held. The removable door is handy. If it were hinged, the glass on the door might be more easily broken.
Overall it's good value for the money and I recommend it for backpackers who want a fairly light stove at a reasonable price.

The chimney is too short to use in a tent and doesn’t come nor do they make spark arrester as the pipe narrows from 3” to 1 1/2”. You will end up with many burn holes in you tent. The plate on top warped after the first use. I was impressed by the burn time for such a small stove. Not something that I would recommend because of the poor chimney quality and design.
