- Reviewed in the United States on October 20, 2024I’ve been using the Denon AVR-S760H for a few weeks now, and it’s an incredible addition to my home theater system. The setup was fairly straightforward, and I was able to get it running with my 7.2-channel surround sound setup in no time.
One of the standout features is the Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization, which really elevates the sound experience without needing ceiling speakers. The DTS Virtual
adds a new level of depth, creating immersive audio that makes movies, games, and music sound phenomenal. The 75 watts per channel provide more than enough power for a standard-sized living room, and the sound remains clear even at higher volumes.
The 8K upscaling is a game-changer for those who want to future-proof their setup, especially if you plan on upgrading to 8K content or displays. It also works flawlessly with 4K content, providing crisp visuals and smooth performance.
The built-in HEOS functionality is a nice bonus, allowing me to stream music wirelessly throughout the house, and having Alexa voice control makes it super convenient to adjust volume, switch inputs, or control playback without having to reach for the remote.
Overall, I’m extremely satisfied with this AVR. It offers fantastic performance, advanced features like Dolby Atmos and 8K upscaling, and easy integration with smart home devices. If you’re looking for a high-quality receiver that’s both powerful and feature-packed, this is a great choice!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 30, 2024If you are looking for a receiver that can support 4K120/HDR/VRR/ALLM then look no further. This one does the job. And does it well. So long as you pair it with a supporting Panel that is.
Your cables need to be 48Gbps on the HDMI front. And they need to do the correct handshake on the TV to work. These cables here work.

The Setup using the Microphone is pretty nice. My old unit had a similar thing but it did not do this kind of work. Denon has you place the Mic stand in 6 different locations and then it will read you what changes it made and even what kind of phase your speakers are in. I had no idea that 4 of my 8 were out of phase. I have no idea if this made a difference in sound but once you correct it, they will test good across the board.
The UI is pretty nice all things considered. I know almost every unit has some basic UI but this one doesn't lag, does what you want it to and is easy to understand. The Sony unit I had before had a great looking UI, but sometimes it lagged and sometimes it needed help.
Sound output is amazingly clear. I have this paired with some Polk Audio using a Sony Sub Woofer. And it sounds unlike anything I've heard compared to my previous receiver. I am hearing sounds that I didn't even know existed. It's been a great experience. And I haven't even tried the Dolby Atmos yet. I need to get 2 more speakers for that. But I will be giving it a try soon!
This unit was about half the cost here compared to the Denon website. I think for the money, its the best bang for the buck.
I liked it so much, I bought another for my office. This is great.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 30, 2022Pros:
- Works well with an LG C9 and C2 TV. Props to LG for having the TV automatically switch between optical out and eARC if the receiver is on or off, as this allows me to use a dedicated headphone amp connected via optical while using eARC for this receiver and my speakers.
- Menus are fairly easy to navigate both on the unit and the OSD
- This is the cheapest Denon receiver that implements Audyssey volume, which helps to alleviate the constant adjustment of volume with movies. It's not perfect, but it does a good job. I find it best to leave dynamic compression Off or Low, and then Dynamic Volume at Light or Medium. If you have DRC cranked up, then apply Dynamic Volume, it sounds like a real mess, but DRC Low and Dynamic Volume at medium is a pretty good compromise when you need aggressive volume control. Basically voices will still sound great, but loud sound effects will get clamped. The distortion is audible, but it's not too distracting, and again voices will be clear.
Cons:
- It takes a long time to output audio between turning the unit on and the audio coming out. It's not that big of a deal, but 10-15s is long enough to start thinking it's taking too long.
- The quick select buttons are great, they allow you to save the audio settings as four different presets. What grinds my gears, though, is that the dialog enhancement setting isn't managed by the presets! So it just stays on the current setting whenever you switch presets.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 9, 2024Denon unit produces high quality sound from low levels to high volume. The remote makes it easy to change source input from TV audio to Spotify Bluetooth. Easy plug in speaker connections and a sound balancing set up mic.
Great value for the money!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 9, 2024Excellent, smooth sound quality. Make sure you run the audio setup with the Mic. It sounded okay before I ran the setup, but after it really impressed me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Magnifico

5.0 out of 5 stars So easy and sounds fantastic.
First of all, it arrived a week and a half early so that was great! I have a 25 year-old Denon (no ARC support of course ~ new TV required an upgrade) so I was confident that the quality would be there, I was just unsure about how user friendly it would be to install as the old beast required just short of an engineering degree when operating the remote. Well, to my pleasant surprise this thing was dead-easy, walks you through the whole speaker set-up with the mike, and components...it was actually fun and, does it ever sound awesome! It put my old Wharfdales to the test and we can't wait to get back into some killer home theatre. One of the reasons I chose this model is that it supports phono so I can still throw a record on the platter when the mood strikes. If you are looking for an upgrade I would recommend this receiver. The remote is very simple as well. So happy with this purchase...didn't break the bank. Glad to see Denon still rocks!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great value for money
I was looking for replacing my Yamaha Rx679 since it went faulty and lying with service center for more than 5 months since the part was not available. Finally I could find a part in US but that costing more than the device itself :-(. The sound is good and I am using it with 5.1 setup with Yamaha NS-SP1800 (I am not a fan of loud sound). It comes with a setup mic with a paper stand. Setup was showing an error with one speaker phase change(I didn't look into much) and I ignored it during setup. There were multiple movie/music mode, dialog enhancer etc. One issue I found with a movie where the background music was loud but the dialog was not very audible(may be a setting issue, I didn't check much). There was a firmware update I got after I setup. The connections to the AVR from cable, Firestick was smooth and the speaker connection can be used with direct wire or banana plug. The seller that I bought had very poor rating, but I took a chance. I got the device is thick bubble wrap and the device was sealed. When I checked about the device in my area, they mentioned that at least for devices they sell, they keep the parts for devices sold 5 years back(Not sure if they repair if we bought from other seller). In general I heard the repair for AVR in India is not smooth. I have added a surge protector for this and I hope I won't need to take it for repair...

5.0 out of 5 stars Feature packed AVR for cheap!
Bought this AVR from Amazon due to supply chain disruption leaving Dubai with no supply on mid spec AVR. I spend more time deciding on a step down transformer due to the 120v rating of the AVR and the 240v rating at home. Managed to get one from Amazon again and been a few weeks. No complains so far. Hopefully this one will last as long as a my previous decade old Onkyo.
