5 months - now buzzing & difficulty connecting
I theoretically liked this - because I wanted one with a corded wire. However, 5 months in, and 1) as seen in the photo, the piece of metal has fallen off. 2) when I plug it into my phone it takes a while to recognize and it is inconsistent, and when it does play, there is a buzzing noise and the audio lasts for like 10 seconds. This not due to my headphones as they work in other devices.I wish these things were built to last better. And keep in mind- maybe in those 5 months I used it 30 times max! And that's being generous.Edit: they have sent me a replacement, so I will see if that lasts.Edit 2: it has been 4 months since they have sent me a replacement. It is working out better and I am using it more. Now I feel there is some slight buzzing if it is plugged in with no music playing, but that is currently tolerable. It hasn't fallen apart like before. Change to 3 stars - because it is hard to know if it will last.

    I was excited to receive this adapter because my current Sony jack—while excellent—is two years old, so it now cuts out when I move my phone around in the belt bag I use on walks. From the photo, I was hopeful this new one would be solid, and wouldn't twist or cut out as I moved around.
    Unfortunately, on first time use, it cut-out while listening to a podcast, then a client called, and couldn’t hear me at all, so I had to switch back to my old adapter to call them back. I tried one more time, but same thing happened. For these reasons, I had to return it.

    While the connections fit together, there is no sound that comes out of my headphones when this cable is connected. All sound continues to come from my laptop. Interestingly, I have the same cable made by the same manufacturer that I have had for several years. It works fine. I just needed a second one for traveling. It it packaged up, waiting to be picked up and returned to Amazon.

    Update: The seller reached out to me and offered to send a replacement.

    Beim Anschließen ans Handy startet der Chip hörbar mit einem leisen Klick. Danach ist nur noch ein ganz schwaches Grundrauschen zu hören.
    Sobald die Musik oder andere Wiedergabe startet, werden die meisten das nicht mehr hören.
    In dieser Preisklasse rauschen andere Produkte deutlich lauter.
    Auch positiv: Es werden wirklich alle Steuer-Tasten der analogen Kopfhörer (Lautstärke, Start/Stop/Nächste...) unterstützt.
    Mein Fazit: Günstig und gut um seine bisherigen Kopfhörer auch an USB-C weiter zu nutzen.
