I live in rural Saskatchewan in a very open and breezy home and often have flies, mosquitos, and other smaller flying things in the house. I prefer to avoid killing the things -- during the day, I'll remove a window screen and keep inside lights off to lure insects out through the bright open windows, and that usually works. But by nightfall when the lights come on, I have bugs stuck in the house. So I bought a Pestnot light and set it up in the kitchen, much like you see similar units installed in restaurants and food service businesses.
The Pestnot light WORKS. It zaps anything that flies into it and makes a loud, authoritative ZAP! or electric-arc-popping sound when it does so. It has very capably handled the flies that used to annoy me in the evening inside the house.
The unit came well packaged and came with a spare set of bulbs. The unit worked as expected right from the box. Bugs are attracted to the light but the light is not a vacuum cleaner -- don't expect everything to be immediately drawn towards the light. I find that bugs will often land near the unit and sit by it for a time before flying into the unit. The plastic tray at the bottom of the unit is easy to remove and clean. The whole unit can be tipped and lightly tapped to spill out any debris not caught by the tray.
Have had the unit for maybe three weeks now and am very happy with it. Certainly recommended.
