Been using these Metabo HPT framing nailers for years now, I’ve tried many other brands and this ones seems to be my favourite. It feels and fits great in the hand and shoots very well. They’re durable and they look great. All nailers have some weight to them but this one here is far from the heaviest. Can’t seem to think of anything i dislike about these nail guns.

Super light and balanced. We have 7 or 8 of them because they are dirt cheap, run well on as little as 80 psi (which is awesome in the winter with ice in the lines), and shoot great for 90% of framing uses. That last 10 percent is why i would never make it my only nailer. You cant shoot through metal without it jamming a nail beside the firing pin. This means any framing in the trusses sucks because you cant shoot anything through a gusset plate. Also cant use them for wind braces. Each time it jams it gets worse and eventually they get to the point they are almost unusable and will jam when they hit a hard knot. By that point though you have gotten a few years of daily use out of them and you just drop 200 on another one. No rafter hook sucks. Totally recommend buying a few because they are a cheap way to supply enough guns for everyone on the crew, but make sure you have something beefier for nailing LSL, wind braces, or through gusset plates.

This thing is so light!!! I have a battery power framer and a canadian tire one now this beauty is first in line.

Only thing I didn't like is the 3/8 adaptor as all my lines are 1/4. I had to put an adaptor on it. Also, why would this come with a hanger??

5 out of 5 nails for me with my stamp of approval.

This is a very high quality framing nailer. It has worked flawlessly for me.

These pneumatic models aren’t as trendy as the new electric models however these will last years to decades longer. With proper care and oiling this tool should last a very long time. I have yet to see a battery powered framing nailer that is as durable as these pneumatic models. Maybe one day, not yet.

I've been putting off buying a framing nailer for a while but I'm so glad that I finally bought one. The Metabo HPT nailer makes framing fast and easy. It's heavy but not too bad. It does get loud so I recommend wearing ear protectors (I wear a noise cancelling headphone while working and it does the job). Best part is that it can easily hold 3 strips of 25 nails with some space to spare, so I'm guessing about 80-90 nails at a time so I don't have to keep reloading like on my cordless Dewalts. I have it hooked up to a 3 gal HFT 100 psi hotdog compressor and it works fine. It shoots about 10 nails before the compressor kicks in again, which for a DIYer is plenty. Not the nailer's fault if anything, I should probably upgrade my compressor to a bigger one. From time to time it would fire so hard that it splits the edge of the 2x4 but only if the wood is dry and old. Overall I'm happy with this nailer. So much faster than using impact driver and torx screws.

EDIT: Pic added. I built a huge part of our pool deck with this Metabo nailer. Zero issues, it never jammed. Sped up the work tremendously.

UPDATE 6/17/24: I just finished framing an entire bathroom addition and it worked flawlessly yet again. I actually dropped it nose first from 8 ft, it hit the paver and cracked the paver, but the gun is unscathed and works fine. This thing is super durable!

It’s a good nailer, but jams frequently if shooting real hard wood or accidentally shoot into another nail or strap. Hard to get unjammed.
