Best no nonsense dog bed
I bought the XL bed. I have a male and a female German Shepherd. The male is a sprawler and the female is a cuddler. The male never stayed on a bed for long before and preferred bare floors. Now he sleeps on this bed through the night and many times during the day and so does the female if she gets a chance. Don't feel sorry for her, she has a Furhaven bed. They seem to like both beds equally, but I prefer the Bedsure one. Qualities? The mattress consists of two separate 2" memory foam mattresses, both enclosed in leak proof covers. The outer cover is quilted on top and non slip under. The zipper is underneath, so it is out of reach of chewing dogs. It washes like a dream. It looks brand new after washing. I suppose in time it will deteriorate, so I am going to buy two extra covers to be on the safe side. The cover is easy to remove and put back. The four inch total mattress is perfect firmness or softness, because it is both, and recovers its shape fully after use. It is particularly perfect for the male, who is over the standard in height and weight and ten years old. It gives the right and perfect support. What other qualities can one wish for one's dog?As I mentioned earlier, I also bought a Furhaven bed intending to give the older dog the choice of one, since he was the finicky one about sleeping on a bed. The Furhaven bed I guess woukd be the one many dog owners would prefer, because the dog can cuddle in it and looks much more comfy. The cover is esily removable and washes very well. The zipper is concealed underneath as well, out of chewing reach. The mattress is memory foam. Both dogs enjoy it. My reasons for preferring Bedsure? While nicely padded as one gets closer to the sides, in the middle the mattress is only 2.5" thick and, for a very heavy dog, is not enough support. The support is good where it matters, but it is better for a heavy older dog to have consistent support. If the dog is not positioning himself right on the pillow, it will not have as good a support as with Bedsure. That being said, for my young, much lighter female, Furhaven is a great bed.The only suggestion I have for the Bedsure company? While I had no problems assembling the bed properly, it would have helped to get the instruction in the package, rather than in an email after I bought it and guess as to the right way of doing it.I gave this transaction five stars throughout, fully deserved. And the icing on the cake? It is cheaper than Furhaven!

    This dog bed is made with amazing quality. COMFORT - there are 2 different types of memory foam in the case. One is slightly more firm than the other for support on the bottom, and the top layer is more soft. Each layer of foam has a zippered cover. I doubt my dog can feel the ground laying on this. He is 90 lbs,

    DURABILITY. The outer cover is VERY high quality material. The top is a soft, but strong material, and the rest of the cover is a very strong and well sewn nylon (i.e. less likely to tear or rip or be chewed) material. I have had a lot of dogs over the years and dog beds, and this bed by far, is the highest quality bed by a mile.

    CLEANABILITY. My dog has thrown up on this bed several times now, so I have tested its washability. It's not waterproof, but only somewhat moisture resistant. I removed the outer cover and the inner cover on the top foam layer and washed them in the washing machine. They both came out great. The inner cover does have a bit of rubbery feel to it so that probably helps with keeping some of the moisture from getting to the foam. If you cleaned up a mess sooner after it happened it would probably repel the moisture. for a while. Left for several hours, moisture can get through to the foam. What I did was spray the foam with a pet enzyme spray and let it dry outside, seemed to work pretty well. I have a large bed that will not fit in the washing machine. I'm not sure how it would be to wash memory foam in the washing machine anyway.

    Overall, this is the best quality bed I have ever come across, and I hope that by the time I need to replace this one, they are still selling these. BEST DOG BED EVER!

    I needed another, extra bed for my bedroom because my 12 year old golden retriever has mobility issues and has trouble getting up on my bed now. I didn't want to have to drag his other bed to the bedroom every night so I started to look for another. We are very impressed with this bed. Comparing this bed to the bed we already have is surprising. The previous bed cost double what I paid for this one and the quality is very noticeable. For example... Bed 1 is an orthopedic bed with cool gel foam; two pieces of foam glued together with no protective cover. This new bed is not listed as orthopedic but I would consider it one. It has two separate pieces of foam, each in its own separate cover which are waterproof. The foam is memory foam. My previous bed had no protective cover and when I took it apart to wash I was disappointed to see the foam had gotten soiled. Very difficult to clean. I had to go purchase a pad to put over it to make sure it doesn't get any dirtier which added to the already expensive cost. This new bed has just the right amount of support. My boy weighs 32kg (71 lbs.). The bed supports him just right. It is an XL and is just the right size. Lots of room to stretch out on. It took my boy a night to get comfortable with it because it is new and he was sleeping on a gel mat, so it was a surprise to find something new in place. He sleeps sound now and I do too because I know he is comfortable. I would absolutely recommend this bed. Great value for the price.

    I would also say, after reading others reviews about the foam not inflating, that I took the foam out and let it expand for 3 days. The foam was even all over and the covers went on very easy. Very easy to assemble.

    I am attaching photos so you can see the size difference between XL and L. There's a tennis ball for scale in one picture. My dog is only a little under 50 pounds but she sometimes likes to spread out so she has the XL for one room and a L size for a smaller room in the house. Both sizes work for her! In the picture with the dog, she is sleeping on the XL. As you can see, she's all the way on one side laying down vertically, with plenty of room to spread out if she wants.

    Both beds were great and easy to assemble. My memory foam in both beds fully expanded in just a few hours. The memory foam is in two layers - one layer (white/yellow) is dense for the bottom of the bed, one layer (blue) is softer for the top for the dog to rest on. Both memory foams came with water proof (or water resistant?) covers. I let a few drops of plain water fall right on the inner cover to check it out and the water beaded on top of the cover as I hoped. Should be a snap to clean and and any accidents shouldn't get into the foam which you can't clean or wash of course.

    Sometimes waterproof covers are crinkly, but this one is very mildly crinkly. It does not scare my dog, who is very sensitive to sound. It does crinkle a little bit though, sort of a soft dampened sound.

    The only issue I have is that you must line-dry the top outer grey cover. That will be a little annoying and it's my only complaint. The cover is a tight fit already so I can see that the makers of this bed really do not want it to shrink in the dryer. If it shrinks even a little bit, I don't think it would really fit at all. So, if you have no way to line dry or air dry this dog bed probably won't work for you.

    Overall, I'm very satisfied with these beds!

The memory foam is in two layers - one layer (white/yellow) is dense for the bottom of the bed, one layer (blue) is softer for the top for the dog to rest on. Both memory foams came with water proof (or water resistant?) covers. I let a few drops of plain water fall right on the inner cover to check it out and the water beaded on top of the cover as I hoped. Should be a snap to clean and and any accidents shouldn't get into the foam which you can't clean or wash of course.

    Sometimes waterproof covers are crinkly, but this one is very mildly crinkly. It does not scare my dog, who is very sensitive to sound. It does crinkle a little bit though, sort of a soft dampened sound.

    The only issue I have is that you must line-dry the top outer grey cover. That will be a little annoying and it's my only complaint. The cover is a tight fit already so I can see that the makers of this bed really do not want it to shrink in the dryer. If it shrinks even a little bit, I don't think it would really fit at all. So, if you have no way to line dry or air dry this dog bed probably won't work for you.

    Overall, I'm very satisfied with these beds!

    This is a very comfy bed. Unfortunately my dog didn't take to it. She ate something strange and threw up on it and I really appreciated the zip off cover for easy washing and the waterproof covers on the inside were nice for stopping the absorption of the vomit. Hooray! Great design.

    Unfortunately my dog is entitled and will only sleep on our beds and couches. Anyway it's a great dog bed for real dogs.

    I have a dog with pretty bad allergies, and I LOVE that this bed not only came with a machine washable cover that is easy to remove and put back on, but it also comes with the liner. It's comfotable and looks great. On top of that, it has held up well to my older dog, who always has to arrange his bed before laying down. I put a blanket in the crate with the bed so that he can move that around to suit his needs, but even before that, when he was pawing at the bed itself for about a month, it shows no wear. I loved it so much I got another one for the 2nd crate!

    I've ordered three of these over time. Two larger ones and one medium. They're a high quality product, and my dog loves them. I (stupidly) ordered a cover to go with my first one. That was a mistake, as these come with two covers already. One inner waterproof one to protect the foam, and an outer washing-machine friendly one.

    The medium showed up flat, and stayed flat. I think it must have been exposed to strange conditions during shipping or something, because the previous two were fine. Despite much wiggling and rolling and waiting for a few days, it just didn't want to puff up. The seller was responsive, polite, and quickly corrected the situation.

    Despite the one wonky pad, I really like the quality of the product and their customer service as a whole. I'll purchase a fourth when I need another dog bed.
