I have reviewed over 20 videos to make sure this analysis is accurate and not based on a "bad lighting day". I have reviewed both day and night videos. Bottom line is that you cannot read a license plate number unless the car is within 5 ft of your own and directly infront of you. It is impossible to read a plate one lane away and if the car is infront of you within 10ft away you can guess as to what the plate says but it is not a clear image. I do not believe this camera uses HDR. I believe that it is or at least is close to the 170 deg angle advertised but Not a single photo listed in the ad was taken by this camera. All of the images are fake or doctored images for sale purposes. The Camera resolution is 1080p but it doesn't seem clear especially since it is 30fps. Slow frame rate makes cars look blurry at times. White car image is how close I had to get to see the plate clearly, notice how the edges of the car are still pixelated instead of straight lines. White car distance 2 (12:35:02) the plate is blurry but you can more or less figure out the plate if lucky with lighting. As the car starts turning, you can no longer use it as evidence in court. PLEASE REVIEW THE FOOTAGE AFTER A FEW DAYS OF SET UP. DO NOT ASSUME THE CAMERA SCREEN IS THE SAME QUALITY YOU GET ON THE SD CARD.All of the above being said, this was one of the best advertised 1080p camera I have tested on Amazon. There are many that false advertise pixels and angle of view so this one was at least accurate, just the image quality and frame rate is low.

    Despite initial concerns about quality, those concerns quickly went away when I received this Camera. The build quality is amazingly good. The camera feels solid, with a metal body and very sturdy mounting bracket. It seems they really wanted this camera to last and be able to withstand anything you could throw at it.

    Video quality is very, very good. 1080p video was crisp and clear. License plates can be seen clearly. Similarly at night the video quality is very good with most details intact. With 5 minutes of record time (which can be adjusted with video quality), you can catch any incident with no problem. Easily connects to a PC via USB and you can grab the video files directly.

    Overall I am very pleased with this dash cam. All of my initial concerns about quality and usefulness are gone. I highly recommend this camera if your looking for a budget solution. It really does a good job, and the company behind it has very good communication. So after sales support is very good too.

    I'll be recommending this to my family and friends for its simple setup and use.

    I Got this dash cam for CDN $39.98. It came as was described and actually overcame my expectations. Very easy to install with a long power cable. It sticks very firmly on the windshield. Menu is super easy to navigate and set it up. Camera is heavy which gives you a feeling of a good quality product. Video quality is great and even you can see a plate number of a car not far from you.
    We used it for our first trip from Toronto to Ottawa and it kept recording with 1080P about 3 hours with 32 GB sd card, audio was on as well. You can turn the audio recording as well. Camera is doing a loop recording so no need to worry about running out of recording space. BTW, SD card is not included.
    I use this every time when I drive. Video quality is really great and I am happy I got this one as you never know when things happen so it is always better to be prepared in advance.
    With Amazon Prime it took me about 23 hours to be delivered to my apartment.

    I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking a decent dash cam at affordable price.

    3. Even though setting is turned on, but I always have to format my sd card after being full as it starts to give error
    4. While in heat, the camera falls off as the suction is not good.

    The camera is fine but when I connected it with my laptop to view videos, it said the USB device malfunctioned.
    I tried connecting to another port but same error. I reached out to customer support, they asked me to send a video. I did. PFA. I told them the USB port is properly functioning as all other devices are getting connected and besides, why would I purchase a 30$ sd card reader on top of a 45$ camera? Then they asked me to use a desktop instead. So now they want me to have a desktop computer instead. I told them these things are usually expensive where I come from, hence people don't own multiple computers. :D

    This is a little camera which seems to be claimed to be quite efficient and would be affordable. Just purchased it. "Small package, big value" is what I'm hoping to claim for it. Would be trying it and updating the review later on.

    This is a little camera which seems to be claimed to be quite efficient and would be affordable. Just purchased it. "Small package, big value" is what I'm hoping to claim for it. Would be trying it and updating the review later on.

    It was a little smaller than I was expecting which is a nice surprise. I was not wanting a large camera that was bulky and would take up a lot of space. It is a nice compact size that seems to be sticking nicely and not obstruct my view in any ways. I am super impressed with the camera quality of this device. The picture is super clear and seems to give us a good picture though the car window - even at night! It came with very clear instructions on how to set up and actually use the device which was super helpful. All of the functions of the device seem to be in good working order. As I do not have a micro sd card yet, I have yet to be able to test its ability to record and save videos but from what I can tell, it will work just fine. I will update my review when the micro sd card arrives. All in all, it came packaged very nicely with all the nessecary cables and features working just as advertised. For the price you pay - and in comparison to other cameras I have seen on the market, this is definitely a good purchase and I will definitely be purchasing a second one for my family members birthday.

    I got another vehicle, so needed another dash cam. The one I put in before was a little too big and quite honestly just distracted me. This one fit right behind my rear view mirror, and don't even notice it. I leave it plugged in all the time, and actually was able to catch a raccoon that had jumped up on our vehicle in the middle of the night because it noticed the shock. Very compact, easy to wire down the trim, and I especially like that the screen goes off after just a few seconds. Surprisingly it does not drain my battery when I leave it plugged in all the time. Very nice setup, super great price, and I feel just a little bit more covered in my vehicle. Don't forget to get a micro SD card even though it came with one. I just like having a bigger one in there.
