Results That Pay For Themselves
iSpring ED2000 solves hard water problems without the need for chemicals, salt, or maintenance, while keeping healthy minerals in the water by preventing scale deposits from forming and allowing existing scale to break down.
iSpring ED2000 descales your entire water system and prevents scale buildup in pipes. Reduces energy consumption with an average one year payback period.
- It is great for your home and the environment, individuals on salt-restricted diets, and those looking for healthier skin and hair.
- It is designed for hard water areas (10-19 grains). Saves energy and extends the life of your appliances.
- No plumbing modifications required. Maintenance-free. Works on any pipe, even PEX and PVC.
Traditional Water Softening Process
Traditional water softeners work by "exchanging" hard minerals like calcium and magnesium, for soft minerals that don't build up and form scale. However, these systems come with a hefty maintenance cost, and create soft water loaded with sodium that is neither healthy nor desirable to drink. Soft water is even aggressive enough to leach lead from your pipes and plumbing lines.
ED2000 Water Descaling Process
The ED2000 uses a patented computer chip to emit an electromagnetic wave, matching the resonant wave frequencies in the water molecule clusters. This causes the clusters to break down into active twin-molecules with much larger surface area and better bonding capability with the hard mineral ions. The water molecules in their new state can pick up and carry the hard mineral ions, greatly reducing the likelihood that they adhere to pipe surfaces while allowing the existing scale to begin breaking down.
ED2000 Water Descaler Limitation
High iron content in your water will reduce the effectiveness of the ED2000. For source water with iron levels over 0.3 ppm, it is recommended to use an iron removal filter (WGB32BM/PB) before the ED2000.
ED2000 Water Descaling Limitation
The treatment effect of the ED2000 is only temporary, and after traveling about 50 feet, the water molecules will bind together, reforming the large clusters. This means that for larger homes, an additional water conditioner may be required.
Product description
The iSpring ED2000 whole house electronic water descaler is an innovative, computerized water conditioning system that solves hard water problems without the need for chemicals, salt, or filter cartridges by leaving the minerals in the water and preventing them from forming the limescale deposits. It requires little maintenance as it does not need the constant salt additions or cartridge replacements that traditional water softening systems require.. . The ED2000 functions by wrapping two antenna cables around the main water pipe to form a coil, creating a complex, frequency modulated, electronic magnetic waveform. This induces an oscillating electric field into the water, resulting in the agitation of water molecules sufficient enough to trigger the release of carbon dioxide and cause the premature precipitation of calcium bicarbonate. This process naturally results in a small increase in solubility, which allows the now unsaturated water to dissolve existing scale deposits and remove them from the water system. . . Limescale deposits on your fixtures will soften over time after regular contact with the treated water from the ED2000. This allows for easier cleaning of fixtures without the use of chemicals. Deposits on shower heads, sinks, and faucets will easily wipe off. The treated water will also allow soap to lather up more effectively, leaving skin feeling smoother and hair more manageable.. . For water over 25 grains of hardness, it's recommended to use a traditional water soften in addition to the ED2000. Water with high iron content (over 0.3ppm) should use an iron removal filter prior to the ED2000. Homes with water mains over 1" but less than 1.5" may need to use two ED2000 side by side, and water traveling more than 50 feet may require an additional ED2000 farther down the plumbing line. . . - Reviewed in Canada on March 22, 2024Style: Water ConditionerVerified PurchaseI purchased this to replace one that has been attached for around 15 - 20 years. I'm replacing just to make sure any deterioration in performance within the old system is stopped and reliable performance is maintained. It would appear to be working properly but I won't know for sure until a longer period of time has elapsed and, if no calcium build-up then it's good to go. The beauty of this system is once you've done the initial outlay of money and you've connected it (something you can do yourself, no plumber required) there's nothing else to do. No salt to add, nothing.
- Reviewed in Canada on May 8, 2023Style: Water ConditionerVerified PurchaseThe town I live in has terrible amounts of calcium in the water. It wrecks everything.
I bought this hoping and praying I would actually notice a difference and I definitely do!
Is it a miracle worker? No, but the amount of change I have noticed in my water just makes me so happy.
The only way I wouldn't have thick crusty white spots on all my dishes and such was if I dried them by hand. That's it. Everything had to get soaked in vinegar regularly.
Now, if there's ever water pooled anywhere it only leaves the faintest little ring. I can totally live with that. Everything stays feeling cleaner and smoother for way longer. Super stoked about that.
For the price, and how darn easy it was to install, I have been recommending it to everyone, and will keep it in mind for all future houses as well.
Been using it for a month or so now.
Dealt with Sean for registering my warranty.
Very pleased.

- Reviewed in Canada on February 14, 2021Style: Water ConditionerVerified PurchaseInstalled properly (as far as I can tell) via the instructions, has been installed for a month and a half now. Absolutely no difference noticed at all. White scale remains on everything, and white flakes still showing up in ice water. No noticeable difference in soap lather. Test strips showed 250ppm prior to install, and still 250 now (though I’m not sure this is supposed to make a difference on test strips, but another reviewer said it did for him. Not for me.) I had high hopes based on the reviews but it’s a complete flop for me.

Images in this review - Reviewed in Canada on July 1, 2024Style: Water ConditionerVerified PurchaseAbsolutely the easiest installation of any electrical device I've ever purchased. Just wind 1 wire one way, and the other wire the other way around your water pipe and plug it in. Starting seeing the difference in my water within a day. My soap lathers better, and after a few weeks, I'm already seeing less scale on my fixtures. Great purchase. I highly recommend it to anyone with hard water.
- Reviewed in Canada on November 1, 2019Style: Water ConditionerVerified PurchaseProduct arrived quickly and was easy to install. Now been five or six weeks since installation. My well water hardness is 21 grains. There has been some improvement. Water feels softer in shower. Rate of hard water scale is diminished, however still getting lime scale build up in electrical kettle. Not as fast as before, but still need to use vinegar to clean it. Manufacturer says to wait three months for full effect. For an inexpensive descaler it seems ok, time will tell. I suspect water that is less hard than mine responds better to the unit. I may still go out and purchase a water softener..... UPDATE Aug 17 2020. I have removed this unit after over a year of service. I really can't see any difference. My hardness ranges between 17 and 21. Update February 2021, I installed a potassium chloride water softener system last fall. The difference is remarkable. No scale or calcium build up anywhere, even the electric kettle. Wish I had done this in the first place.

5.0 out of 5 stars Decalcificatore elettronico.

5.0 out of 5 stars Customer Service above and beyond the call
Verified PurchaseIn advance of moving into a new house, I was looking for a magnetic water treatment device. I have lived in a hard water area most of my life and for the last 30 years have had a magnetic treatment device attached to the water main. I was totally happy with its effect. Rather than hard scale I benefited from soft powdery deposits which were easy to remove.
I researched the options and I bought an iSpring ED2000S.
I made the mistake of buying before taking a good look at the pipework in the new house, and try as I might, I struggled to fit the bands around the intricate and non-uniform mix of copper, brass and plastic pipes, awkwardly placed behind fitted kitchen cabinets.
Consulting Nick at iSpring Technical Help he suggested it would be easier with wire wraps rather than brass bands.
I was expecting to resolve the problem by buying the older ED2000 with wires rather than blades. I was truly impressed when Nick came to my assistance. iSpring went the extra mile to help me out, despite the root cause being my decision to buy before doing a detailed investigation of the installation site.

5.0 out of 5 stars New Home Install, It Works!
Style: Water ConditionerVerified PurchaseUpdate 1 year in: still working like a charm, and now the faucets furthest away from the iSpring have developed some white calcium residue that we have to clean semi-regularly. It’s minimal, but noticeable. This is because they’re so far from the iSpring unit that its effectiveness is diminished, so I take it as further evidence that the unit works exactly as described. I shudder to think of all my faucets looking like that (or likely worse). I might buy a second and install it to mitigate this, but still one VERY happy customer!
Original review: I purposely waited 7 months to write this review, to give this iSpring device a fair shot to either work, or…well, not. We built a new home, so new pipes, faucets, appliances, everything. We’re also on a well here, which was new for us to get used to. The well water is really good—basically filtered mineral water, healthy and pure right from the tap with a TDS of around 550. BUT!…that also means in our first month we began to notice white chalky deposits on our taps and shower heads, and some powder on the glasses/silverware after using the dishwasher. We learned it was due to our high TDS well water, and needed a way to protect our new home’s plumbing and appliances somehow. The conventional wisdom was to install a water softener, but besides the cost we also didn’t want to add salt to our excellent tap water. So I did some pretty exhaustive research and settled on this device instead. It seemed a little like science voodoo, but I figured if it didn’t show results in a month or so I’d return it and get the water softener if I had to.
Well, it did show some results, and then some more. It seemed like magic at first, but the shower heads just stopped having powder and sediment building up. The dishwasher did the same, and the taps seemed to run clearer too. We noticed the water felt different when washing—at first we told ourselves we were imagining it, and maybe we were—but soap began to sud better, and washing hands or in the shower felt less “scaly” than before. Also less water spots on surfaces. Then it just kept happening like that, and seven months after install we have absolutely no powder on the dishwasher we use almost daily, the shower heads look the same as the day they were installed, and the water has a “softer” feel. It’s NOT actually softer at all—the TDS is about the same, and the six month water test at both the well and the tap are basically identical to when we first moved in. So I’ve experienced enough to say for us, this thing works—works like a magical charm!—money well spent and im so relieved not to have to put salt in my water and maintain a softener system. I also sleep better knowing the dishwasher, washing machine, and fridge won’t get gummed up with the great minerals that are in our well water.
A few items I’ll note here that might be helpful (as others’ were for me as I researched this): our well water is moderately hard, and the hardness mostly comes from calcium and iron. I don’t know how effectively this device would work on other types of hard water. We also are fortunate to have an indoor water heater and a large crawl space, so I was able to install the device after the well pump but before the water heater (this protecting it as well, I hope). So the iSpring is covering both our cold and hot water, which may not be possible in all well system setups. The install wasn’t difficult, but wasn’t exactly simple either. At one point I had to call the customer service line, which was picked up promptly by someone like it was a cell number!…and after I recovered from my surprise at getting a real human right away, he talked me through the issue I had (direction of wire wrapping) and solved the problem in short order. Last, this is the 7 month mark only—I’ll return to update if issues start happening past 12 months. Since I have a brand new plumbing system, anything that occurs will be a good benchmark for the longevity of this product.
Overall, I’m an iSpring convert—it works for us, and has made a huge difference in our water quality and confidence that our new really expensive appliances won’t get gummed up with mineral deposits. It still kind of seems like magic, but science can be like that…and, so what, it works! I’m a happy customer.
