- Reviewed in Canada on September 25, 2021Style: Roomba i3 (3150)Verified PurchasePros:
- Cleans almost everywhere and moves in straight rows.
- Slows down before hitting a wall or obstacle, most of the times.
- Almost never get stuck. Doesn't need my intervention. Happened once since I've got it. (a month and a half)
- Works well with Google Assistant.
- Deep cleans carpets and rugs. *Perhaps too much.
- App is simple enough and works well for what I need (schedules).
- I'll be honest: I've owned the i3 for a month and a half now and I haven't used my "real" vacuum since. My floor are always clean now. I'm lazy and happy.
Cons:
- *Will be too rough on wool or other delicate fabric carpets/rugs
- Hair (long) rolls in around front wheel and rubber brushes bearings. I clean it every other day. (very easy to do)
- The Edge-Sweeping Brush with scatter some debris around since it's going very fast but chances are the i3 will pick them up after so it's not a big con.
Note:
-I suggest keeping a cluster-free floor as this thing will eat everything small enough in its way. It has very good suction! In my case, it ate a small cat toy, once. Just remove all small stuff from your floor and let the i3 do its thing. If that's too much work for you, go for the new Roomba J7.
-If you want to be able to clean specifics room and not your entire floor each time, go for the Roomba i7. EDIT: This is not true anymore as the i3 have the mapping feature now and can clean one room at the time if needed. Also, it is possible to create schedules using your rooms in the app.
- Reviewed in Canada on February 7, 2021Style: Roomba i3 (3150)Verified PurchaseI usually prepare my home before sleeping every night for the roomba to clean. It's quiet enough that it doesnt wake me and my gf up every night. I set a schedule everyday at 1am. My floors are always clean, whenever i drop something on the floor i dont worry about it anymore.
Pros
Programmable, you can run it everynight when youre sleeping or whenever youre gone
Cleans hardfloors pretty good aswell as carpets
Picks up hairs, and pretty much everything i had on my floor so far for one week
Cleans in neat rows
Cleans under the couch and bed which i find satisfying
Cons
Sometimes it will bang on your bedroom door if you live in the same floor, and the solution is to put some pillows infront of the door before sleeping.
It doesnt clean every single spot, it misses some areas but only very small sections most of the time its unnoticeable.
You cant program it to run for a specific time. For example it shows on the app you can program it to run for 45 minutes but when it thinks it vaccumed everywhere it goes back to charge

Images in this review - Reviewed in Canada on October 3, 2023Style: Roomba i3 (3150)Verified PurchaseI've been using the Roomba for a couple of years now and it's saved me a lot of time and energy. But the parts are already getting worn out and I need to get replacements, which is unfortunate. Also, sometimes the Roomba just doesn't clean an area properly, or at all. Cleaning the Roomba out can be pretty horrendous at times. Why do things get curled around the brush????
I do like the mapping feature a lot. Once you map the area, you can tell the Roomba to clean just a few rooms. I do wish we didn't have to erase the old map entirely to create a new map, though. I still haven't got the scheduled cleaning feature to work-the only way my place can get cleaned is if I move everything out of Roomba's way.
The Roomba app is good and useful. Sends notifications in a timely fashion.
- Reviewed in Canada on December 17, 2024Style: Roomba i3 (3150)Verified PurchaseI bought this as an "upgrade" to a previous gen dumb Roomba (no WiFi, mapping, app, etc.). It sucks, and not in a good vacuum way. Won't free clean (ie, clean without needing to map the place) for more than about 10 minutes before it decides it's heading back to the dock, constantly gets clogged due to small intake hole for the dirt, fails to charge...it's actually unbelievable Roomba's engineering team released this product to the public. It's one improvement over my old model is that the rollers are not perpetually clogged and need cleaning.

I have named mine Fee Fee
In my situation I have divided the main floor of the house into four sections. These sections are called kitchen front living room hallway and litter box area
These sections were set up during the mapping process of the robot. The dividers for each section were installed on the app Then the sections were given a name on the map In the schedule section of the app I programmed the different areas to be cleaned to my liking. In the front living room in the picture you should be able to see that the Romba cleans in parallel rows for the most part with the exception on my exercise equipment w hitch case Fee Fee works around it. It is scheduled to clean this area twice per week i’ve scheduled Fee Fee to clean my cats litter box area 4 times per day plus one extra time that I’ve programmed in when it cleans the kitchen area every day in the video hopefully you will be able to see Fee Fee working in the litter box area one one of its scheduled runs
Unfortunately this house has two steps down into the main living room so programming Fee Fee To clean main living room is impossible
However all I have to do is pick the Roomba office charging base place it in the main living room and push clean and at the end of it cycle place the rumba back on its base. Really not that big a deal. Since the Roomba is relatively quiet I can still watch TV while he is busy only thing I have to remember is keep my toes off the carpet. It hurts a little bit when the Roomba drives over your toes 🤪

5.0 out of 5 stars Great robot vacuum for price
Style: Roomba i3 (3150)Verified PurchaseI was a bit skeptical which is why it took years for me to consider buying a robot vacuum. I am a slave to my vacuum as I have to dogs that shed constantly so vacuuming every single day is just part of my routine. But after many hours of reviewing and researching, I gave iRobot a try and I am thankful I did! It has been a full week I had it and it works great. For a non dyson (strongest suction vacuum) it has decent suction for hard wood floors and even area rugs. Works slowly and when it does bump furniture, it is very gentle. Noise is a minimum compared to a "true" vacuum. My one golden retriever is DEATHLY afraid of it and runs to go outside the minute I turn it on.
Pros:
Picks up all pet hair on hard wood and most in the area rugs
Decent suction for a robot vacuum
Quieter than a traditional vacuum
Goes "home" when press home button as long as vacuum wasn't picked up and placed down as that disorients it
Easy to clean all parts
Ease of set up with iPhone
Cons:
As all reviews say. This is smaller type of vacuum so expect (based on square footage of area) to have to empty dust bin depending on square footage of house and how dirty floors are. Vacuum will alert you when dustbin full.
Cycle of vacuum sometimes is off. It may go back and forth in a given area over and over despite being a large expanse of floor in front of it. Sometimes gets frustrating and you need to pick it up and place it in other parts of the floor it has not gotten to.
However, I have learned to just put it on for an hour or so and let it go where it needs to go. If left on its own for the time, it will navigate all over floor, under couches, under chairs
I know the more expensive line has dust bin emptying and "mapping" of floor plan so it covers the entire floor but I did not buy this to replace my dyson animal cinematic traditional vacuum. I bought this to keep the pet hair under control so I can take 1 day off of vacuuming every other day and let the robot pick up the pet hair.
All in all, REALLY impressed with this robot vacuum especially for dog hair. It picks up ALL the hair and allows me a day off of traditional vacuuming. It is quiet. It gets the job done so it frees me up.
HIGHLY recommend!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't Get This One
Style: Roomba i3+ (3554)Verified PurchaseThis was a replacement to an off brand.
Connection issues: First we had trouble connecting to it. My phone/the app would throw error codes left and right; talked to their help desk and had to be transferred all around. We never found a solution, but my partner was able to connect. Really frustrating. Between me, my partner, and with help desk, it took us 50 attempts to connect. It should not be this hard. Our internet was compatible with the device.
Self-Empyting Bin: This was the main reason why we chose the product. Our last one filled up too quickly from 3 pets worth of fur. By the second time we run it, we noticed the vacuum would empty its bin within 2-4 minutes of vacuuming and it killed the battery. We cleaned the bin, the filter and bag, but the bag wasn't filled. By the fifth time we used it, it would throw errors saying it couldn't empty itself. We cleaned it again and found the filter already needed a replace. We didn't have this problem with our off brand. They do not give you replacement filters, but they give you two bags.
Overall Clean: It seems like a good sweeper compared to our off brand. The carpets felt cleaner. That said, I don't think the robot is efficient. I felt that the robot goes over some of the same areas and does not do a complete "lap" around the house.
App: The app is basic and kinda disappointing. Our old vacuum's map would show you lines where the vacuum had cleaned and if you needed to go back over a spot, you could tap or place a box over an area and send it to that area. This one doesn't. Just shows you a map. You can tap on the map and tell it to clean a room.
Sound: This is a loud one. This is as loud as manual sweeper. I am auditory sensitive and usually wear ear plugs and step outside while it runs.
Overall, I'm unimpressed. We got this on sale for $279. Our last one was $150 and had a mop feature, which we didn't use. Honestly, go with the off brand. I'm sure it can't be much more worse than this one. 😅
