This helmet is spectacular. Very comfortable, I love the fact that I can flip the face open very easily to have a conversation, face recognition on my phone, fresh air, etc. The other super cool thing is the easy flip down sun shades. These actually work really well I would hate to have to wear sunglasses inside of these.The only thing that needs improvement, is where the battery pack inserts for the lights. Once you install batteries, they will consistently fall out and dangle on the back of your neck while you are riding your motorcycle. I solve this issue by putting some Velcro onto the battery pack and inside the slot where it goes. It no longer falls out. This is something they should do at production. Other than that, perfect product.I am very happy with this purchase

    Bought this to ride my electric scooter around town. There is fog that builds up when you're stopped, but the vents work effectively to clear the fog once you start moving again.

    The rear light is great at night when you need to be seen.

    The fit is comfortable, but may not work for some depending on the shape of your head, how much hair you have and the size. I measured within the "medium" size on the chart where it fits very snug, but some may need to go up one size.

    Edit: Oct 08,2023 - Had a terrible spill while riding with full gear on including this helmet. The rear LED light visor popped out and the plastic broke, there is visible damage on the helmet itself, but this is not me being critical of this helmet.

    This helmet saved my life. I didn't feel any negative impact when my helmet made contact with the concrete because the padding was thick enough to protect my head, and the outer shell of the helmet was strong enough to withstand the impact.

    I WILL be purchasing another one of these helmets. Helmets save lives. Wear them.

    It’s quiet perfect for me. My only complaint is that visor fogs up but the vents clear the fog almost immediately once’s u start moving. The sun visor is beautiful but I feel like it should extend a little farther and should block most of the wind but doesn’t.

    It fits perfectly nice and snug like it should. The quick release neck strap is a nice touch and being able to rise the front part of my helmet is nice when u are going into a store to get something and u don’t need to remove ur helmet completely to talk. I don’t know how much normal helmets go for but I am very happy with the price only 155$ with one day ship is still a stealing price.

    I’ve had this ILM helmet for 6 months now, and find it well worth the money. It has so many interesting features for the price point. I really appreciate the flip up feature the most on this modular helmet, it is easy to use and makes putting on the lid with ease if you wear glasses. The ventilation is good with the vents open up front, and better with them open on top, although it is noisier. The flip down sun visor is excellent when you need it. I purchased the helmet with a clear visor, so it is very functional, especially helps for those who don’t use sunglasses.The red light feature in the back is awesome, you can choose from various modes for safety while driving at night. Lastly it is very comfortable, just make sure you buy the right size. The only negative is that it is a little noisy, but I always wear ear plugs, so it isn’t that bad. At this cost it is excellent value for the money, and it looks awesome too.

    I bought this helmet for just something to use when i ride with my husband as a back rider. The price is good quality its what is expected, came brand new but its already falling apart but nothing serious so i use my handy dandy glue and glued it back and whola its works fine. Not sure of the extra parts where it belongs. The inner visor is getting stuck and when we were driving its halfway falling down on my face. Maybe i did not lock it properly. The mechanism of the partial helmet to a full is good.
    Now the size can be tricky i am 4 ft 8 like a childs head and my size is Large on an adult helmet and a female too so you might consider ordering one bit larger than what your head size when your using a cap.
    Other than that its perfect for me. I could have bought the $500 or more but its not something i will used all the time.

    Overall a decent helmet for the price. I usually ride open-face and grabbed this because it was cheap, and I liked that open face was still an option.
    I’m really impressed by the quality of the helmet with the exception of the visor- the plastic feels cheap and it has a lot of wobble when it’s flipped up. Makes me wonder how well it would hold up in a crash.
    Besides that small issue the helmet fits comfortably, the quick release buckle is a nice touch, it’s not too heavy or big and for the price can’t be beat

    My original visor became scratched from dropping my helmet on cement obscuring my vision. I located the ILM Helmet model number on a sticker located on the back of my helmet and ordered this replacement.

    There is a single screw holding a visor mount plastic clasp on each side of the visor. I removed each screw and the visor easily lifted off the helmet.

    Next I pulled the latch of the plastic clasp and removed it from each side of the old visor placing them on the new visor. These just clip on, again very simply. Then I attached to the helmet replacing the screws. Removal & installation took about 3 minutes start to finish. Easy!

    This new visor fit perfectly and offered a clear view. It functions exactly like the original in the way it slides up and down. Reasonably priced at $19.95 through Amazon this was a pleasant experience start to finish.

    I bought this helmet to take my riding lessons in 2021. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a helmet til I knew if I would continue and could learn more about what would best fit me. I went one size up, from LG->XL and it fit comfortably. Eventually, the longer I wore it, the more it hurt from pressing on my forehead. I removed the padding and used an ice cream scoop to compress the front and back of the foam. Then I was able to wear it all day before it started hurting. Size-wise, it was great. I put in speakers and still had room to wear Earpods and there was plenty of space to slide glasses in and out with the helmet on. I was even using a strap to hold my glasses in the right place with no problem.
    Pros: You can't beat the price. Well built. I like the yellow because it is better for the heat but more visible than white. Spacious without being too loose. Quick release buckles are the best; can even clip it with one gloved hand (sometimes) if I forget before I take off. The face shield and shade operate easily. I even use the shade with sunglasses when heading into the sun.
    Cons: Main problem I encountered is the shield fogs when it rains and only solution is to crack it open a notch. Thankfully, the shield stayed in place when open. I wish there was more air flow. Can barely tell a difference between vents open and closed.
    I can't comment on the noise level: 1 because I've had nothing to compare it to, 2 I always ride with noise canceling ear pods, and 3 my road tourer blocks most of the wind. I will say this; I gave up using the bluetooth headset because the headset wouldn't let me raise the volume so I could hear anything above the wind noise above 60 mph. I recommend getting NC ear pods or wearing ear plugs just to save your hearing anyway.
    Over the years I've tried on other helmets, just for a fit check, Bilt, Schubert, Shoei, et al and none of them felt as comfortable as my ILM, so I never traded up.

    Now, The Best Part: I recently ran off the road at a curve going about 65 mph and rolled several times (I wasn't really counting) down the ditch and the helmet stayed on and did what it was supposed to. I had no head or neck injury! (I had Bohn armor on, in case you're interested.) The only injury I sustained was a broken Tibia and misaligned ankle from a 600 lb motorcycle landing on my ankle. I count myself extremely lucky. After that, the helmet was seriously scratched up and the shield hinge didn't function well and one of the black vent pieces came loose. At that point, I felt I had gotten my money's worth out of it and was more than happy to replace it. I might just replace it with the same one, though I might try on a few others in the same price range to see what feels the best.
    So, if you have an intermediate oval head, and you're considering buying this, and the Cons aren't deal breakers, I encourage you to consider it. Good for one good wreck, then replace it, and hope you never have to replace it!
