It works wonders - it moves a lot of air out of the greenhouse. I plug it in every morning and unplug it 12-13 hours later. This is the first year for my greenhouse, but it has been going 12-13 hours daily for 2 months now.
Easily reversed - so can bring air into my greenhouse.
- Reviewed in Canada on October 1, 2024Colour Name: Φ6"/10×10inchVerified PurchaseWith I few modifications I made by removing the rear air flaps was able to install into 2x4 chicken coop wall and has worked flawlessly for about a year now. Highly recommend. Am ordering another for when this one goes down as nothing lasts forever.

- Reviewed in Canada on February 9, 2024Colour Name: Φ10"/ 14×14inchVerified PurchaseTLDR: this fan is overpriced and very cheaply made. Exhaust is ok, intake flow is non existent. It WILL break down very quickly due to the cheap motor. Just a matter of when.
Overall the fan works at first. I have it installed in an apartment window for exhaust running constantly, occasionally turning off when not required. It’s not nearly as well constructed as photos indicate. There’s nothing specifically misleading in the photos it’s just that it appears to be a solid construction. In reality the entire products is very soft, flimsy plastic. For some reason I imagined from the photos that it was a solid, sturdy hard plastic.
I like the overall design and is exactly what i was looking for with louvres so I could stop wind coming in when i don’t want it on so I was willing to overlook the cheap construction as it technically serves it’s purpose. You just have to be careful with it and bend back the louvres when they warp. I’ve had it running since beginning of Dec and it started to seize towards the end of January finally giving up permanently today. I’m assuming it’s the very cheap motor they’ve used which is not user maintainable ie you can’t oil it without breaking it. I’ve had many fans performing the same function and with constant use every fan will eventually seize and require maintenance however they typically last at least a year before requiring any intervention, if not many years. This one isn’t even user repairable.
While it’s functioning the exhaust is decent. Not great but it served the purpose I needed. It’s considerably better with exhaust than some of the dual window fan models which do basically nothing. If you’re looking for a reversible intake fan though look elsewhere. On the Internal flow direction, in the entire centre 10” diameter there is no airflow whatsoever. You get about 1” of airflow at the very edge of the fan and that barely moves a tissue.
If you get one that by chance lasts a while it’s an ok value only when on sale but I would expect that to be a rare case. It’s a shame because there aren’t really may other fans with this design. I’d be happy to pay more for a high quality version but spending this much on something that could last only 2 months is just silly. Even if they replace it would I want to keep having it break and have them replace it every 2 months having to wait with no fan while going through that process and dumping more plastic into landfills? You decide if you want to risk it but my money is going to go towards a better quality product.

Given its multiple applications and installation methods I would recommend this exhaust fan to those looking for a relatively easy install at a competitive price.
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for small to medium spacesOne of my goals this summer was to try and find some way to exhaust and cool my shed without having to spend more than I had to. I decided to purchase this particular exhaust fan given its plug and play and more importantly due to its dual direction airflow capability allowing me to choose to bring air in or exhaust air out. Although there was a slight problem with my original order, customer service at Sailflo were quick to respond and resolve the issue. They truly stand by their products which only made me feel more confident in my choice. After running the fan over several hours I have to say that this unit does what it’s meant to do and so I can finally turn my “sauna” back to a shed ;)

Images in this review - Reviewed in Canada on September 25, 2022Verified PurchaseWe installed this 6 inch fan in the upper window pane near the ceiling in my sunroom before winter hits.
I previously had one of those cheap window fans in the lower window. I wanted it to draw the warm air into the sunroom in the winter, but it wasn't very efficient and it would often freeze and seize, and the cold air would ice it up, etc. it wasn't efficient at moving warm air into the room and was just a tad bit cool in the dead of winter. I'd have a curtain on the door and sometimes air would blow inside the sunroom. Also the lower level fan always spooked me as it wouldn't be difficult for someone to break in through it.
This new (properly installed and caulked) exhaust fan is placed near the ceiling opposite side of the room from the door, so now warm air should flow from the door, through the sunroom and to the ceiling venting out through the fan. I also noticed the fan is doing a great job exhausting the air as the door curtain is directing outwards sucking warm air into the room.
Now I can close and lock the lower window giving me peace of mind.
Oh man the thing is QUIET! I'm very satisfied and I hope it last a very long time.
I highly recommend this product!

5.0 out of 5 stars "Exhaust" function I needed
Colour Name: 12 InchVerified PurchaseAttic bedroom REALLY needed an exhaust fan! While we've used a window model to pull heat out during the day, the bring cool air in at night, only one window was installed high enough to pull the heat accumulated at the ceiling. We didn't build the house but I sure would have done it differently if we had.
I read the reviews and the mfr instructions that this fan is ONLY for *wall installation*! but we already had a hole in the ceiling where the stovepipe (from the wood stove downstairs - that we removed) went, so I thought "what's the worst that can happen if we put it in the ceiling?"
It's an absolutely perfect fit! We removed the "metal frame" for the stovepipe, cut the hole about a half inch larger on one side for the 10" fan, screwed the fan mounting into the wood framing like it was made for this fan.
The ceiling placement is near the light switch w/ an electrical outlet BUT the fan's electrical cord would be perfect IF IT WAS 12 INCHES LONGER! As it is, I had to mount an extension cord to the wall.
We only use the "exhaust" function to suck the heat accumulated at the ceiling outside - I can only imagine the "creepy crawly" things the fan would bring in... The shutters work perfectly (after clearing away insulation that could obstruct opening and closing). We've had it running practically 24/7 since installing it and it's kept the bedroom 10° to 15° cooler!
Personally, I like the "white noise" of the fan, so I can't complain about it. On the other hand - since the fan is close to the TV, and husband watches TV upstairs, he has to turn up the volume 🤷♀️ meh, it's fine.
So, turns out you can indeed mount it in the ceiling without terrible repercussions! Great fan for the price, easy to install, and works well.
I gave it 5 stars but would dock it half a star for the short electrical cord - c'mon guys, would another foot kill you?

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy install , runs smooth an quite .
Verified PurchaseWas the right size for my back up generator shed, like the 3 speed . Cut opening in metal shed side and added self sticking foam around edges , then added 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 inch wood for strength . Screwed fan down to wood frame and plug to gen. outlet. Using foam and wood to install it has no vibration at all, keeps my 10,000 watt gen cool.
