- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 February 2018I have to admit I was a little skeptical before purchasing this unit, in terms of the sound quality, but I shouldn't have been. It is extremely simple to install. Plug firmly into the car cigarette lighter socket and immediately the unit switches on and tells you what FM frequency to turn to on your radio. In my case it was at the bottom of the frequency band, well away from other radio station frequencies. I set the desired frequency as a preset on my car radio. I then inserted a micro SD card containing MP3 music (128kB/s) and lo and behold, loud and clear. The sound was extremely good. Although one section of the instruction manual, written in 'normal Chinese English', informs that you can also use WMA (Windows Media Audio) and WAV files, I only tested it with WAV files (the best format to use - use dbpoweramp to rip from CD's into uncompressed WAV which is much better and clearer than 'lossy' mp3.) However, having now had the unit for three days, I am aware of a mild high frequency sound that has caused tiredness when driving. I have retuned the unit to a variety of FM frequencies but the 'noise' is still there. It is not a fault but endemic with this type of apparatus. You can also pair it with your mobile phone via Bluetooth (V 4.2) to make and receive calls and stream music, the microphone on the unit being to the left of the rotary knob and the received audio being routed through the car stereo. Therefore you can use this unit to make and receive phone calls, and if streaming music via your mobile phone the music is automatically paused until the call is completed. It also has a small 3.5mm stereo mini jack socket located on the side panel if you wish to connect a further audio device in this way. Particularly useful are the two USB sockets at the base of the gooseneck which you can use, for example, to plug in a GPS and charge a phone at the same time. I am really impressed by this device - it is much cheaper than a new stereo system for the car and being small can be taken away on holiday and used in a hired car when abroad. Just beware of the high pitched 'ringing' which may be more or less intusive to some than it was to me.

Images in this review - Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 November 2021I bought this as a workaround on my older car that doesn't have bluetooth. I thought it worth trying given the price and found a positive review of the same product elsewhere. At first I found interference on the audio quality but realised that it was conflicting with an FM broadcast. Once I found out how to turn off auto-search on my radio, and disable the RDS to find an empty frequency, it works really well. The sound is decent enough, there is no "hiss" and being able to play songs and skip them using the device was something I really appreciate. The "hands-free" seems a bit quiet and therefore I need to turn the volume up but the person on the other end says the sound is good. The only minor quibbles - the flexible neck seems to have a limited range of adjustment so I rotate the 12V end to get the controls where I want them and I realise that having the track-name on the display would be handy too, but then the device would need to be somewhat larger. All-in-all, it works well and is a bargain at the price compared to installing a new head-unit or having a bluetooth kit installed more permanently in the car interior.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 July 2024Good product, does exactly what it’s meant too, looks stylish, easy to use
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 January 2019The sound when making a call is very good, as is the audio quality when playing music from my phone.
Setup and first time pairing is easy enough.
However this device is such a loose fit in my power/lighter socket that as soon as I hit a bump in the road it loses electrical contact, and you have to wait while it re-pairs to the phone. This is particularly annoying if I'm on a call at the time. If I attempt to use the volume adjustment, or the other navigation buttons it'll also end up losing power.
The long flexible stem doesn't help with the above problem as it causes the unit to lean over.
It's hard to find a position where the head of the device doesn't interfere with the gearstick and the power window switches. This is in a 2002 Mercedes E220.
I've also tried this unit in our 2007 Corsa, and while it's a slightly tighter fit in the power socket, I find it always interferes with the manual gearstick. As in the Mercedes, I'm happy with the quality of sound when transmitting to the car over FM.
I would not recommend this device.
3.0 out of 5 stars Good audio but poor ergonomicsThe sound when making a call is very good, as is the audio quality when playing music from my phone.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 July 2020This device is absolutely brilliant. I’ve got 2007 Golf mk5 and have been wondering how I can get Bluetooth for my car To listen to my iphone music. Phoned a local garage and got a £250 quote. Eek! So eventually found thIs FM transmitter and it’s absolutely fantastic. It was a tight fit in the charge point which is located below the dashboard and the swan neck perfectly twists to show the display. Easy to sync the FM frequency of 87.8 and then easy to Bluetooth connect to my iPhone. Then the music comes through to the car speakers 😀. Calling hands free is also easy. This device does everything I need for only £22! Wow! To optimise the volume, it’s best to max the phone vol and the device vol, then the car radio to suit. This avoids excessive radio vol when you don’t connect your phone. Easy to move songs forward and backwards and it looks neat in the car. So......my verdict is that is well worth buying! It’s perfect for my needs and works really well! Recommended to a friend with an “older car” and he’s gonna but too.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of my absolute best buys
I bought a used car back in February and to my dismay, the aux port was damaged. I (stupidly) did not get the warranty. I was hoping to use the aux port to connect my Amazon Echo or this Bluetooth adapter I had.
I was very upset until it hit me - I could just get an FM transmitter. My brother-in-law has one and it works great. I went on Amazon and found this one. I read through a couple of reviews and bought it. It was something of an impulse buy, but I am so glad I did.
It works very well - connects to my phone as soon as I power on my car, unlike my Amazon Echo Auto, which I don't miss. I have to turn the sound up on my phone and radio to hear anything but that might just be due to the technology. Once it's at the volume I prefer, music sounds great. For the best results I tuned the transmitter to the end of the FM spectrum and I haven't had to deal with interference with other radio stations.
This unit has features that I haven't used yet, such as the aux port on the side, and I just realized that you can put in a micro SD card in it. I will have to try that out as sometimes I don't want to launch the music app on my phone and find something to play. I also love the button you use to answer the phone, and didn't realize you could long-press it for Siri (since I have an iPhone) so I will have to try that out.
Initially connecting it to your device is also very easy, as I recently upgraded my phone and had to pair it again. I also love the two charging ports, as you can use it to charge anything else. I used one port to charge my MagSafe charger but I broke that cable by accident.
I came back to this listing to buy it for my dad as he needs one, and remembered that I wanted to write a review for this, so here it is. I think I paid $29 for it, and it was worth every penny. It works very well and I love it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfecto

5.0 out of 5 stars 👍🏼 Preis Leistung
