The bin worked nicely until the battery holder broke and it doesn't open automatically now. This after 5x weeks of use. I may be missing something, but I cannot find any way to contact the manufacturer to see whether I can get a replacement battery holder. Also, there is no detail I can see about the 6v adapter that should work instead of the battery pack?

    Was a bit sceptical about ordering this bin as not a top brand name but after receiving very glad we did. Our last bin started playing up after 7yrs so wanted a replacement this one isn't as tall as our old one but is slightly wider so the same volume. The battery installation is very easy compared to the old one & the lid stays up longer which is good & there is a count down in lights. Time will tell how long this one will last. Brought some of the matching bin bags that were advertised on a card in the box & these are so much better than the black bags we used before they match the bin better are very strong & have drawstring handles. Overall very pleased we purchased this bin.

    The metal curves inwards at the top rim of the bin, so if you've got a lot of waste inside and you're looking to change the bag, be ready for a mess because it shreds the bag on its way out bottlenecking the trash on the top.

    You'll need another bag to hold the removed one and a dustpan and brush to catch the inevitable spillage.

    The door swinging sets the bin off, the constant flashing lights seem like a wasteful gimmick and the dog quickly learned how to access this smart bin which as I stated above shreds all the bin bags on exit.

    I have ordered a replacement - a classic manual lid and a cone shape with no bottlenecking metal which looks ready to rust.

    Do not waste your money on this badly designed bin.

    Dec '21: This is probably the third or fourth sensor bin we've had over the last fifteen years, and it's the best. When it first arrived I was mildly disappointed by its height. However, it's not so short that you have to stoop to get the bin to open. Our previous sensor bin acted like Arkwright's till in that it would open fine but if you took too long to scrape your plate etc., it would close very quickly on you. This would even happen if you were still waving about in view of the sensor. THIS bin, however, has been designed perfectly. The top opens quickly and if you're still doing stuff in its range, it stays open. Four blue lights do a countdown before the lid slowly closes. It's wider than our previous bin and somehow, despite only being a couple of litres bigger, it seems to require emptying less quickly - being wider you can somehow push quite a bit more in. A final positive is that the batteries are kept cleverly in a holder that you insert into the back of the bin near the power switch and screw a round cap over. This means, unlike every other bin we've had, you don't get soggy, condensationy batteries that start to rust and leak (and fall out of the compartment into the bin itself!). We've had the bin a couple of months now and the 4xAAs are still going strong. Highly recommended.

    *Update* November '24: So, the bin lasted about three years before it started acting a little erratically (opening itself, not closing despite new batteries + cleaning etc.). However, I'm not going to downgrade my rating. It's worked perfectly for years and has been put to the test. I just bought another one!

    C’est la nième poubelle automatique que j’achète. Ouverture large. Mise en place et sortie du sac facile (50 l). Prise d’alimentation 6v à l’arrière (bloc non fourni mais indispensable si on ne veut pas se ruiner en piles). La poubelle est élégante mais le capot plastique fait un peu cheap et détonne avec le reste. Fonctionnement silencieux. Juste dommage que ce genre de produit ne dure pas assez longtemps avant de tomber en panne (5 ans environ).
