Purchased this because the tuner in my TV didn't have any live pause functionality and while HD could not tune Freeview HD channels.

This added both of these functions to my Xbox One..

However!, this really comes into it's own when you connect it to a Raspberry Pi, with a bit of tinkering, research and setup it can easily surpass Freeview+ HD boxes easily for about half the cost, all in.
Some things to be aware of, the process of setting this up with a raspberry pi can be a little involved so be aware of that, but it is well worth putting the time in.

With OSMC and TVHeadend and the appropriate firmware (available online) you gain DVR functionality, not only that you can set up recordings over your network, steam live tv and recordings to tablets, phones and PCs, you can also set your Pi up to record to network connected drives.

One big standout feature (unavoidable on most DVRs, due to draconian DRM schemes) is the ability to transfer recordings to playback on other devices (Including HD content :-) ).

Well recommended to anyone who knows a little bit about computers, and is willing to put a little bit of time in to set this up.

It works and allows you to watch TV on your Xbox.

BUT TV guide does not work as a result of which you can not record programs.

It does however appear to show HD channels so for the price is good value for money. I have also read that others have had good results connecting it to a Raspberry Pie which I may do in the future.

Although the product works well and is easy to set up, without the built in EPG that Xbox have removed from their systems, this is largely useless. You have to manually scroll through all the channels to find the one you want and have no idea what's on.

Quite simple to use you search for the channels and it brings up hundreds. The only negative that anyone might complain about is losing of the signal, however this is not product related it is down to the strength of your TV signal.

I needed a quick freeview replacement after having too many issues with SkyQ and this simple little adapter works well enough as a cheap temporary solution before deciding on a decent freeview recorder box. My TV has a terrible EPG on its basic freeview and the inbuilt youview app on it is sluggish at best. With this I get a smooth experience and a decent EPG. I just plugged it in and got a prompt that it was connected and I simply followed the on screen instructions to set it up. some channels (mostly the +1's and the movie channels) didn't tune properly though and it added them to the end of the list with no program information, but this could be my aerial. It is definitely easier to use with a media remote though.

Rendered completely useless, doesn't work on next gen consoles, and even when connected to my old Xbox one x, it has very limited uses, can watch TV, but contrary to the name "oneguide" there is no guide, you cannot control pretty much anything other than flicking up and down the channels, I only wanted the feature to pause live TV, which works but it really wasn't worth it as I have to spend a hell of a long time finding the channel I actually want to watch, to find it's not even HD, I'm disappointed, i should've just connected the cable to the TV, atleast then I can control the damn thing, the ability to pause TV is probably the only feature about this that actually works other than that it's completely useless, waste of £10, i have even spent ages and ages on YouTube trying to see if there was something I missed, I'm not one of those dumb people who just assumes it will never work because it didn't work first time, Microsoft actually announced that it will be taking away practically all the features that enable people to use the Xbox as a TV box earlier this year, why is this still being sold?! I'm actually angry

It's a nightmare to set up, your Xbox display and the manual contradict eachother on a number of points, not least where to plug the thing in.

Ultimately though it's a USB cable so you have to ignore your Xbox and plug it into one of the 3 USB ports. My Xbox only detected it if I used the USB port on the side of the console, rather than either of the two at the back.

Contrary to reports there is no automatic set up. You have to dig around the settings menu and try a load of options in the Oneguide section until you stumble on something to do with the TV that initiates installation.

Oneguide itself is a bit of a crock - you can't get the TV to turn off and on with the Xbox, you can't control your TV volume with the Xbox controls, you can't add your streaming apps to the Oneguide as promised.

The actual user interface is ugly, unwieldy and nothing like as advertised.

At £10 this is a worthwhile upgrade to the teletext-esque menus you'd otherwise have with freeview but frankly I wish I'd just paid a bit more for a Freeview box that could also record programs.

I expected this to help me get down to just one controller and to give me the ability to access my streaming apps from within Oneguide. It fails on both counts.
