Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Our first floor doesn't have a completely open floor plan, but there are no doors between the kitchen, dining room, and family room, and the mapping function can't separate them via virtual boundaries at least not per what I've been able to do or in any other help forums I've been on.
That's annoying, but I can live with it. But, what will keep me from buying again is how often the dustbin gets full, and can't be sucked out by the tower unit. Essentially, the dust gets sucked in through a single opening. Then it gets sucked out of the dust bin into the tower unit through two openings. I think the goal here is to have more suction from the far corners of the dustbin, but what ends up happening is that dust gets trapped in the center between the two openings, builds up, and soon, you have to manually remove it. To me, this defeats the purpose of having the tower.
We've got an irobot upstairs, and while it doesn't have a mop option on it, at least I can divide its map. Also, I almost never have to get down to fix stuck dirt.

The robot itself, while not perfect is acceptable. The base is the problem. The base has two purposes- charging and emptying. It gets 50% of that done. The emptying function is abysmal. It works 10% of the time in a home with a dog.
To add to the problem a micro switch which detects the bag you must install eventually fails, and refuses to detect the bag, requiring a return of the base to Ecovac. I’m am sending mine back now for the second of what I’m sure will be many times.
This vacuum works well and the auto empty base is a definite plus. However, after only 18 months of use it has stopped working and because it is outside of the 1 year warranty, I have no choice but to replace it. Even though the T8+ is priced pretty reasonably considering the inclusion of a base, the price becomes much less reasonable when you consider you’ll be needing to replace it after less than 2 years.
I have this vacuum now for about a year have nothing but trouble the thing is stupid It never could find its base when it comes to unloading everything that is vacuumed up it does not go into the canister I have to empty it out manually to sum it up if you are considering flying one of these units run don’t get one Try to find one that does a good job this one definitely does not
