So many choices on Amazon. This one definitely zaps. I am so sick of the constant mosquitoes showing up right as the day starts cooling down. I ended up turning this thing on for the first time last night after dark. I grinch-grinned when I heard the zaps from inside my house. I have a small back patio near the door and the bugs constantly try to get into the house, and are super annoying when we hang out outside. I do not recommend putting it near the door, as it attracts probably thousands of bugs. This morning there were even moths lying around it, still alive. I thought the moths feast on the little fried bugs, until I opened up the bottom where the dead things fall into after their fate is sealed. There were 4 moths very much alive that took off flying. Barf. So it does not kill larger moths. It kills SO MANY smaller flying things.I also saw a bird this morning coming around the dead bugs every time I stepped away. I thought that was cool, until I saw the bird poo. So I guess, pick what is more tolerable to you if you plan on buying this. It attracts so many bugs you have to distance it from foot traffic, kills lots of small ones, but in turn will attract other things like moths and birds and their poo.Last photo is the pile of bugs that were emptied from the inside.

    Took a chance on this as I've never heard of this brand but can't say enough good about this unit. I turned around and bought another one to put on the far end of the house and they work very very well. Great quality they're much quieter than previous bug zappers I have owned and seem to attract a lot more.

    I previously purchased a similar bug zapper but from a different manufacturer. It was larger and had a photocell switch so it turned off in the daytime, but it didn’t have the removable catch tray or include a cleaning brush. This Gootop does a good job killing flying insects including larger moths. It has a brighter blue light. In fact it’s even visible in bright sunlight. What would make it outstanding is if it had a photocell like its competitor so it would turn off in the daytime. The cleaning brush should be redesigned. The handle is short and it’s difficult to poke it inside the grill. It currently is designed like a dust pan brush when it would be better as a paint brush configuration. The twist off bottom tray catches the bugs. My zapper had quite a few moths that stick to the grill instead of falling down. They’re difficult to clean out since the grill is all one piece. It has a decent length cord compared to its competitor’s very short cord, but you will most like need an outdoor extension cord if your zapper is any length away from its outlet. Overall I’m satisfied with purchase. With a few improvements it can be 5 stars.
