How did we get our start?

Epoch Design was founded in 1997 with a mission to create high quality, built to last furniture at a great everyday value.

In 2006, our founder's mail was stolen. Locking mailboxes available for sale were either poorly made 'theatre-security' or extremely overpriced!

We engineered a beefy, patented locking system that can stand up against prying attempts. Over the years we have continuously improved our product design to meet our customer's needs.

We got our mail stolen - we created an affordable, practical and heavy-duty solution!

Locking mailboxes help to reduce the risk of ID theft, since criminals steal mail to access personal information. If you have a residential curbside mailbox, you can replace it with a USPS Approved (USPS Engineering 2012) locking mailbox according to USPS specifications. Mail is delivered via an incoming mail slot or bin, and retrieved with a key via a locking access door.

With the prevalence of mail theft, a locking mailbox is a modern day necessity. But not all locking mailboxes are secure. In fact, most can be fished by hand or pried open with a screwdriver in seconds. Not the Mail Manager.

Mail Manager will protect against mail thieves and mailbox vandals. Its innovative design accepts small packages yet deters fishing, and includes an exclusive patented locking system to impede prying and leveraged entry.

Innovative baffle door design prevents fishing and accepts small packages up to 3.5" x 3.5" x 10".
Patented anti-pry latch locking system features a chrome-alloy tempered stool hook cam.
Commercial grade 12-disc wafer disc lock deters drilling and picking, and includes 3 laser cut keys.

The thickness and strength of our cold rolled electro-galvanized steel makes Mail Boss mailboxes both baseball bat proof and vandal resistant. While there’s no way to make any mailbox 100% theft proof while remaining USPS approved each of our secure mailboxes get extremely close, and help keep your mail safe in a unique way.

The Mail Manager anti theft curbside locking mailbox delivers ultimate mail security to protect you from the epidemic of mail-identity theft

Deliveries are instantly captured via one of our exclusive mail slots or bins, which are nearly impossible to pry or fish. Once your delivery is safely inside our secure mail vault, our locking delivery boxes protect your mail while shielded by vandal-proof electro-galvanized steel. Your mail can then only be accessed by using one of our laser cut keys via our secure patented anti-pry latch locking access door. All of these security features combine to form a bunker around your sensitive information and prevent any common criminal from making a quick buck off of your good name.

Engineered to last a lifetime

All of our secure mailboxes are constructed of cold rolled electro-galvanized steel.

Room temperature raw steel is compacted stock through a series of metal rollers, similar to rolling out cookie dough, in a process that forces atoms together in a tighter bond. Cold rolling the steel in this way makes its strain hardened strength as much as 20 percent stronger than similar width steel! Next the steel plates are immersed in an aqueous zinc/saline bath and electroplated with zinc which protects all of our materials from corrosion.

Powder coated heavy-gauge galvanized welded steel construction

Powder coating is a process in which a thermoplastic polymer is electrostatically fused to a metal surface and then cured at a high heat to create a hardened plastic skin on your mailbox. Powder coating helps your Mail Boss resist rust and is an order of magnitude more resilient than conventional paint. With minimal maintenance you should have a beautiful mailbox for years to come. But just because or boxes are tough doesn’t mean they have to be boring. You can still show off your personality, add a little character, and bring some major curb appeal to your home, as many Mail Boss Mailboxes are available in a variety of colors and finishes.

This a very easy to install, large, sturdy post box. My complaint is with the wood looking laminate on the box and post. It is ridiculously fragile. After installation, I windexed the box to remove dust from the install process, and shipping packaging. The paper toweling in my hand were three layers thick and my short fingernails putting pressure on the toweling to wipe off dust, (NOT stone dust- harvest dust and styrofoam packing dust) marked the laminate. It now looks like my mailbox was keyed. Oh well. Just be aware and try not to scratch it. HARDER to do on installing the post, which is around dirt, stone, road grit, the shovel, weed whacker, mower etc.
