Installed these two outside in my backyard and put some Apple Cider vinegar in both and immediately attracted flies, some bees and some wasps daily. They get in and cannot get back out and eventually die in the liquid. Great product and easy to manage.
I would post a video but all it would show is an empty jar. Didn't catch a single one. Our yellow jackets and carpenter bees weren't fooled by this at all.
I have bought 3 different types this Spring. This is number 2 on my list for doing the job. I put a few drops of dishwashing liquid in the mix, as advised by someone else who reviewed this product. The holes are large and not angled. I think my number 1 choice w angled holes is a much better “wasp catcher.” …But I’ll keep these, as they do trap and kill smaller flying insects like flies and hornets.
We purchased four. Two traps were on the deck and two were placed in the garden. These are easy to use and clean. After trying various liquids I found that orange juice worked the best. What was strange is that some caught several and some caught nothing. I can vouch for their durability. I accidentally dropped one from the balcony onto hardpack earth below and nothing happened.
This bee catcher works great! We placed one about 2 feet from our humming bird feeders and it is half full by the end of the day. It obviously doesn’t catch all the bees that are on the feeders, but it really cuts the amount. We are happy with this purchase.
I used a sugar mixture and after 3 hours in the evening, there were wasps covering the whole surface of the water. It was easy to set up and easy to throw the dead wasps out. Sometimes the wasps/bees hang out on the lid so make sure they are all in the water with wet wings before opening to discard.
I bought a few of these for my back yard. They were easy to get set up and going but it’s not perfect. I’ve only had 1 wasp get trapped. They’re still hanging up though.
