Images in this review - Reviewed in the United States on December 17, 2021Color: Carbon/GoldVerified PurchaseI bought a gold version for my son as a present. I was unaware he had sent me a gray version as a gift. When I received mine I couldn’t believe how light it was. This thing was lighter than my Benchmade bugout. The fit and finish was first rate and the knife was one of the sharpest out of the box that I have ever seen. I own several hundred knives and this one is at the top of my favorites. After a couple of days playing with mine I ordered a gold version for myself. I was afraid it was going to look tacky but after listening to my son go on and on about how much he liked his knife and how good it looked I figured if I didn’t like it my grandson would get it. Well, the boy is going to have to wait for his. The gold isn’t tacky at all and looks real high end. If you want an amazingly thin, light quality knife this is it.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 3, 2023Color: Carbon/GoldVerified PurchaseIf you want a small, extremely sharp knife with a premium steel that weighs next to nothing, this is the knife for you. Ten years ago I purchased the original (it was called "The Access Card" back then). It weighed over a half an ounce more than this one, and I literally carried it everywhere, every day. With the carbon fiber scales, and S35VN steel, this model is quite the upgrade. The access lock opening mechanism works flawlessly; but the blade is ultra thin and light, so it's not something that flies open with your typical wrist flick. And while I wouldn't use it to break down cardboard all day, it's nevertheless nice to have a good cutting tool, especially on those days when you don't feel like carrying around a beefier knife.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 30, 2022Color: Carbon/GoldVerified PurchaseSo, I was going to return this knife, but this kife is really great for being in a new city where you basically need a money clip. I used it to carry ID and a CC, and it works great for that. Will I EDC this knife, no, and in fact, I also carried a Gerber 06 tanto auto with it, but it was a nice combo for being in a new city, and not knowing what to expect. I think this is a very good knife when you want to keep a low profile, and probably also have another knife, but the money clip part is very nice. Also, it's super sharp, so if it had to be used it would fulfill its duty, but I would consider this a backup knife, or a money clip/knife when you're in a new area. It's very lightweight, yet sharp, subtle, and gold lol; so you really can't go wrong with the combo. I will not be returning this knife.

I’ve only used the blade for opening packages. I am very disappointed in the quality. That said, the knife is incredibly lightweight and well balanced. But I would not buy it again or recommend it to anyone I consider a friend

Images in this review - Reviewed in the United States on November 13, 2023Color: Carbon/GoldVerified PurchaseAn excellent choice for a light use pocket knife. Definitely not a go to edc but fun to carry as a secondary or if your wearing just shorts. If you want thin and sharp its the one. Unbelievably sharp out of the box. I have many more expensive knives that are not this sharp. The gold holds up like TiN does on all other things. It fades and wears down eventually but patinas kinda nice actually. I like a worn knife eventually

Images in this review - Reviewed in the United States on March 4, 2022Color: Carbon/GoldVerified PurchaseI’m a bit underwhelmed…I saw mixed reviews, but they were overall positive so I took a chance. I’ve owned 5-6 SOG blades, including everything from inexpensive mini aegis to higher end ones and one of the revamped models (flash XR). They all Have come mostly very sharp…this one won’t even pass the paper slice test, so off the bat, that’s annoying to have to sharpen a $100+ blade out of the box. It doesn’t have any assist and most of the professional reviews showed it being able to ‘flick’ open when holding the lock open.m, but this thing has so much friction that it’s almost akin to a slip joint. I may try to adjust the pivot tension but I don’t want to end up with slop either. If I can’t get it adjusted properly it may be off to SOG to resolve. The last disappointing part is the titanium nitride finish…I like the gray nitride in other blades, but this gold one doesn’t appear to actually be nitrided but rather a coating as it’s a very dull almost tan and not really the bright gold like everything else (drill bits, pliers, tools) that are a known nitrided industrial finish. Will update after I sharpen and try to resolve some of the issues.
*Update*
After really breaking in and smoothing up the action, it can be flicked open one handed. But you have to carefully loosen the fixing bolt that holds the blade between the handle scales. Blade steel once sharpened is good, but still irritated that it didn’t come sharp and the edge was ground a bit uneven. Given all that, I find myself carrying it a lot due to the thinness and weight. The TiNi finish also seems to be holding up reasonably well.
